Dörlemann Publishing House / Dörlemann Verlag AG
The publishing house was founded in 2003 by Sabine Dörlemann, a former editor at Ammann Publishing House, Zürich. The new publishing house Dörlemann quickly became known as a high-quality address for contemporary literature (both fiction and non-fiction) and modern classics. It focuses on translations from languages from all over the word, not only from English and French, but also Russian, Hebrew, Arabian and Chinese.
Among Dörlemann’s authors, you will find Nobel Prize Laureates such as Alice Munro and Iwan Bunin as well as many other internationally renowned authors such as Martha Gellhorn, Nella Larsen, Margaret Atwood, A.A. Milne, Jokha Alharthi and James Hilton. However, Dörlemann also publishes contemporary authors from German-speaking countries. The publishing house is renowned for its high-quality literature and has been awarded the prize of »Swiss Publishing House of the Year 2023«.
In 2024, Sabine Dörlemann decided to retire from work and sold her publishing house to Kampa Publishers in Zürich. Dörlemann remains an independent company and is still based in Neptunstrasse 20, Zürich, Switzerland, but it is now part of the network of Kampa Publishers. Its books are available and widely read in all German-speaking countries.
